Effect of Intercropping and Double Row Planting on Growth Attributes, Yield of Sugarcane under Sustainable Sugarcane Initiative

A field experiment was conducted at Sugarcane Research Station, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Sirugamani during (Plant crop) 2017-18 to find out the effect of intercropping and double row planting on growth attributes, yield sugarcane under Sustainable initiative. The experiments were laid in a strip plot design with three replications. main treatments comprised crop geometry viz., M1- 150 x 60 cm Single planting, M2-150 Double M3- 180 M4-180 planting. sub S1- Sole Sugarcane, S2-Sugarcane + Greengram (Aduthurai 3), S3- Blackgram (Vamban 5) S4- Sunnhemp (Co 1). intercrops raised additive series 3 rows spacing 4 cm. recommended schedule drip fertigation for initiative followed by using surface irrigation system. Observations parameters taken results revealed that higher attributes cane also recorded sunnhemp (M2S4).
